Free wireless Internet is just a click away now that the city and Earthlink have opened hot spots for web surfers downtown and on the beach.

By going to cctexas.com, users with wireless cards can tap the city's public network as a free gateway to the web.

Most of the hot spots are downtown, at the Bayfront, and in the North Beach areas, with access available within 300 feet of a wifi box.

The city believes the free hot spots will be helpful to business travelers and tourists who come to Corpus Christi and may look to open up more sites in the future.
