Aberdeen SD Campground Expansion Approved
KELOLAND TV - Sioux Falls,SD,USAAberdeen's Park and Recreation board will move forward with a plan to expand camping at Wylie Park. The City Council approved the plan in a 7 to 1 vote.
During the summer, the park often has to turn campers away because it's full. The new expansion will add 22 camping cabins, 23 R-V sites and a tenting area.
Officials expect the project to cost about $2 million and believe it should bring in over a $100,000 each year.

10-Step Guide to Buying a Used Laptop That Works
Buying second-hand products is always green, but it’s easy to be discouraged by the stories of broken laptops from eBay or Craigslist. To quell these fears, here is a 10-step checklist on how to avoid high-tech lemons.
Most wouldn’t flinch at the idea of buying a used car, but the thought of a used computer sends them squirming. The tech industry tries their hardest to keep it that way: they advertise new products in such a way to render the previous models perceptually obsolete; they block even the simplest hardware upgrades; and they sell bottom-of-the-line models that simply break within a couple years.
This shouldn’t scare you away from a used computer purchase, but know that they are imperfect machines; some research, determination, and basic knowledge is required. To make this list, I used both my own experience along with some tips from Peter Montesano of Peter’s PC Repair, one of the most highly regarded repair shops in San Francisco.

ExpressCard Wi-FI card for Macintosh comes with antenna
MacWorld.comQuickerTek on Monday introduced a new version of its ExpressCard MacBook Pro networking product line that features an external antenna. It costs $199.95.
QuickerTek offers an external antenna to boost signal reception.
MacBook Pros feature internal Wi-Fi connectivity, which is limited to about 30 milliwatts (mw) of wireless power. QuickerTek says its ExpressCard — designed to fit into the expansion port on MacBook Pro models — has 300 mw of power. The more power, the more likely it is you can pick up a weak networking signal or attach to a wireless network through walls, office equipment and floors.
The card operates on 802.11b, g and n wi-fi frequencies, and it works with all Apple AirPort Base Stations. The card also supports WPA, WPA-2 and 128-bit WEP security protocols. It requires Mac OS X 10.4 or later.

Have AT&T DSL at Home? Get Free Wi-Fi on the Road.
AT&T’s Wi-Fi service, offered at stores and other public areas, is now free to all its broadband customers. AT&T customers who do not use its broadband service must pay $19.95 a month to use Wi-Fi.
AT&T is selling its DSL Lite broadband service to new residential customers for $14.95 a month. The price will remain the same for two years, and customers do not have to sign a contract, the company said. To receive the $14.95 offer, they must sign up for the service by Oct. 31.
Existing customers pay $19.95 a month for DSL Lite, which AT&T says on its Web site is best for surfing the Internet and sending e-mails.
Customers need to have AT&T’s landline phone service to receive the DSL Lite package, the company said.
AT&T also offers DSL packages that are more suited to send and receive large e-mail files, music, photos and video at a high rate of speed.

When I move, my email address has to change, right?
Belmont Citizen-Herald - Lexington,MA,USA
Whether you're moving to a new town or getting a better deal, if you change Internet Service Providers (the company that you pay each month to provide you with your internet connection), don't also change your e-mail address without considering all of your options.
That ‘free’ email address may not be worth it
When you move to a new Internet Service Provider (ISP) such as Verizon, Comcast, Earthlink, etc., they typically give you at least one free e-mail account as part of the package. There is no obligation to use this free account, and in many cases I advise my clients not to use it at all.
When you change ISPs, you might think that:
· You have to stop using your old e-mail address at your old ISP.
· You have to start using your new e-mail address at your new ISP.
It turns out that most of the time neither of these statements is entirely true. Don't make the mistake of changing your e-mail address without considering all of your options. And there are other, even better, options.
